2011 Campaign Finance Report Released

VOICES of Conservative Women will be filing our VOICESPAC Minnesota Campaign Finance Report today. We have previously filed our VOICESPAC Iowa Campaign Finance report. VOICES of Conservative Women (VOICES) had a strong year in 2011. VOICES expanded from a single state PAC in Minnesota into a national organization in 2011. Yes, there will be a test (on Election Day)

Fancy speeches and big promises will no longer work. Standing at a podium and telling us lofty visions will always be seen with a skeptical eye. What the new America is longing for is that leader who will walk in the trenches with us, who has seen tough times but yet has prevailed. Vague concepts of “hope” and “change” must be replaced with specific tasks that have measures of progress and effectiveness. The mantra “it was like that when I got here” needs to be replaced by “everything that happens from this point forward, good or bad, is my responsibility”. [...]

Iowa Straw Poll Presidential Kick-Off Breakfast and “Corn Poll”

With a bumper crop of Republican candidates competing to win the Iowa Straw Poll in Ames, Iowa on Saturday, August 13, PURSE-Iowa and VOICES of Conservative Women will partner in a Presidential Kick-Off Breakfast and an hourly Corn Poll contest. Breakfast attendees will hear from the field of Presidential candidates (candidate list http://iowastrawpoll.eventbrite.com), and Straw Poll women and men attendees will visit the VOICES/PURSE tent to weigh in at the Corn Poll with a kernel or more of corn to tip the scale in support of their favorite candidate. 1st Women's Straw Poll Results Announced

Smart Girl Politics Action (SGP) and VOICES of Conservative Women (VOICES) are pleased to announce that Rep. Michele Bachmann narrowly wins the first Women’s Presidential Straw Poll. Herman Cain came in a close second place in this straw poll held in St. Louis, MO, at the Smart Girl Summit, July 29-30, 2011. This gathering of almost 300 conservative women also voted overwhelmingly in support of Republican’s Cut, Cap and Balance” plan that was passed by the House of Representatives on Friday. Trying to figure out who conservative women back for president

Minnesota’s Voices of Conservative Women will ask that question in a first-of-its-kind straw poll of presidential candidates aimed only at women. Voices, an advocacy group that works to elect conservative women at the state and local level, will partner with its older sister, Smart Girl Politics, based in Virginia, to conduct the straw poll at the third annual Smart Girl Summit in July 29 and 30 in St. Louis.
