VOICES of Conservative Women & VOICESPAC

Dear Friends,

Whew!  Can you believe the year is almost over?   To be honest, this was a VERY long, whirlwind election season.

Every year teaches us many lessons – this year we learned that the tenacity and sass of this organization can get us through many hurdles and taking the long view on any decision is always the best course of action.

We have been busy since the election has ended.  We thought we would take a moment to update you on what we have been up to lately.

  • VOICES of Conservative Women Year End Wrap-Up Party is THIS TUESDAY at Digby’s in Plymouth! Majority Leader-elect MN Representative Joyce Peppin and Assistant Minority Leader Senator Michelle Benson will be our keynote speakers this year.   We have elected a net of 44 women since our inception in (4) four states.  (63 candidates w/ a 70% win record)  Having a women’s org on the center/center right is just a regular part of the Minnesota political landscape now.  BUT that is a very RARE thing to have a Women’s PAC actively operating in a state, especially for women leaders at the State and Local level.   Many women’s orgs started by a wide variety of individuals have fallen over the years all across the country.   As of last review, we are the ONLY women’s org on the center/center right that will endorse and/or actively work on behalf of women leaders in the country.   To not only survive but grow in a tough state…that is something to celebrate because it is amazingly rare.  So, bring a friend or two with you and come celebrate with us and our friends. for additional details.
  • 2015 Trainings:   In 2015, we will be back at work working on our training initiatives and our aggressive recruiting effort.   We will be bringing back by popular demand our “Evening of Insight” issue reception which is always a lot of fun.  We will have some “breakfast and learn” events as well as expanding our  “Morning in Minnesota” – trainings that are web and office based.  We are also working on expanding our electronic library which has a database on a variety of topics and resources.  2015 looks to be a very busy year for our nonprofit.    We are also encouraging people to check out the MN Excellence in Public Service Series.   MEPS is starting their 2015 series in January.   The curriculum is presented by high level speakers and includes discussion of policy and issues, candidate training, campaign management training, discussion of ethics and strategy and public speaking practice and critique to aid in the pursuit of leadership positions and public service positions at all levels of government.  The Series culminates with a three-day conference in Washington DC to discuss national policy issues.  If you are interested in applying or learning more about the program email our friends at
  • Director of Public Relations and Communication Wanted for VOICES:   We are looking to add a Director of Public Relations & Communication.   We have a great story to tell.  But having an structural engineer tell the story…well, that means it doesn’t get told for obvious reasons.  Therefore, we need to expand our board and bring on an talented individual who will be willing to help this organization revamp our marketing, public relations and communication plan.  This is a volunteer position, is flexible and your help would be gratefully appreciated.  If you are interested, please email
  • We also have applications open for our Spring internships.  Click here to learn about our  Intern positions.  If you know of college Junior or Senior who is looking for an internship, please let us know or forward them this email.

Finally, we need your help.  If you are willing to volunteer or donate to help us train and elect more common sense pocketbook women to office, WE NEED YOU.  Please consider donating $25, $50 or more today to help us support great women candidates.

If you are interested in volunteering your time and talents, please email

Best Regards,

Jennifer DeJournett

VOICES of Conservative Women President
